About Paul Lewis

Paul joined the British Merchant Navy when he was 16 and completed the cadetship with The Bank Line Limited, a 100-year old company based in London, which is still operating today as Andrew Weir Ship Management. He then took his chief engineer's qualifications and later leaving the sea to become an engineering surveyor with British Engine Insurance, the technical services division of the Royal Insurance based in Manchester. However, he still felt the draw of the sea and after two years, he left to return to a position with Princess Cruises on 'The Love Boat', where he learnt about the yachting world.

Paul came to the South of France in 1996 and after a short job on a small Benetti, he took up the chief engineer's position on a couple of larger yachts which led onto a job ashore with Camper & Nicholsons in Antibes as the technical manager for the fleet based in the Mediterranean.

Paul has now been the head of Camper & Nicholsons technical department since 2001.
