Bio

As a Crew Placement Assistant at Camper & Nicholsons, Olivia Bick brings five years of experience in the yachting industry, combining first-hand onboard experience with a strong understanding of the standards and demands of the sector. Having progressed through a variety of interior and housekeeping roles on board yachts, she developed a particular passion for people, organisation, and creating seamless operations behind the scenes.

Her transition ashore into crew recruitment has allowed her to remain closely connected to the yachting industry while using her onboard experience to better understand the needs of both crew and clients. Olivia is driven by a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a genuine commitment to supporting others in achieving their goals.

Background

Olivia entered the yachting industry five years ago, initially working as a Stewardess on smaller vessels before progressing to Housekeeper roles on larger yachts. Her decision to pursue a career in yachting was driven by a desire to work in an international environment and by her appreciation for the high level of service, commitment, and professionalism required within the industry.

Her onboard experience gave her the opportunity to work across different yacht sizes and develop a broad understanding of interior operations. She particularly enjoyed working behind the scenes to ensure that everything ran smoothly and seamlessly, while developing her skills in housekeeping, team management, training, and administration.

Olivia holds a Baccalauréat in Sciences et Technologies de la Gestion, as well as qualifications in Housekeeping and Flower Specialist training. She is a native French speaker and speaks English to a C1 level.

Experience

Between 2019 and 2021, Olivia worked aboard M/Y Kolaha and M/Y Mar Crew as a Housekeeping Stewardess and later as a 2nd Chief Stewardess. These roles allowed her to develop a comprehensive understanding of interior operations, from guest service and laundry through to housekeeping and team coordination.

She subsequently joined M/Y Lionheart, where she further developed her eye for detail and gained valuable experience working alongside highly experienced crew members. During this period, she discovered a particular passion for housekeeping and progressed to Head Housekeeper, taking responsibility for training and managing a team of housekeepers and spa stewardesses.

Alongside her operational responsibilities, Olivia developed her administrative and organisational skills by creating and maintaining SOPs, inventories, and other interior-related documentation. After five years working on board, she decided to move ashore and pursue a career in crew recruitment, allowing her to remain connected to the yachting industry while seeking a better work-life balance.

Olivia joined Camper & Nicholsons with the ambition of developing her career within an international yacht recruitment environment. Her first-hand understanding of life on board gives her valuable insight when working with crew, while her strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and experience in team management support her role within the Crew Placement department.

Outside of work, Olivia enjoys horse riding, Pilates, travelling, fashion, and beauty.
