About Holly Overton

Holly grew up sailing on the south coast of England and has never been too far from the sea. She studied journalism at university, where she joined the sailing team and raced Fireflies, then spent her summers teaching sailing in Greece and the US. After graduating, she began her editorial career at yachting magazine Boat International. For six years, she helped shape the brand’s online presence and eventually became Online Editor, overseeing coverage of the global superyacht industry.

In 2023, she relocated to Fort Lauderdale to relaunch Dockwalk, a magazine aimed at superyacht captains and crew, also part of the Boat International Media group. With a new editorial direction, she focused on bringing more crew voices to the forefront.

Holly remains an avid sailor and continues to race at Cowes Week, Round the Island Race, and Antigua Sailing Week.
