INSTANT BOOKING
The De Vrouwe Christina (DVC) was commissioned by Crawford Failey, a well-known professor of Medicine in New England, who modeled her after the traditional Dutch "Tjalk" vessels. Tjalks were often used as cargo barges, a popular shallow draft design with lots of stability and volume. When gaff rigged, they were known as spritsail barges, and that, was the inspiration. Launched in September of 1957 and arriving to New York in January 1958, DVC spent several years exploring the intercoastal waterway and the Bahamas. In the 1980's she was sold to James Ryder of Ryder Trucking fame. He was so impressed with DVC, that he went on to build two Feadship's of his own. Another owner sailed her across the Atlantic Ocean six times under the watch of an English captain.

De Vrouwe Christina, first launched in 1957, holds an important position in the boat building history of the iconic Feadship shipyard. De Vrouwe Christina was inspired by the Dutch, Tajik' barges and she is the only vessel of her kind to have been built by the award-winning yard. Thanks to extensive refits in 2002 and 2017, and a dedicated maintenance record, she is now offered for sale in impeccable condition.

De Vrouwe Christina has a gaff-rigged motor sailer configuration and is exceptionally seaworthy. De Vrouwe Christina can also boast a shallow draft, permitting her access to the more secluded bays and anchorages. An excellent cruising vessel, with up-to-date technical and navigational equipment, De Vrouwe Christina's current owners have proven her capabilities in visiting the waters of Alaska, New England and South America in recent years.

De Vrouwe Christina offers three well-appointed and luxurious cabins with a full-beam master suite aft and two twin cabins for guests forward. Her interior is modern and features varnished birds-eye maple with custom detailing. De Vrouwe Christina has many noteworthy artistic features and with her unique style she attracts admiring smiles from onlookers in any harbour.

Wide, open decks and a protected wheelhouse offer great versatility, accented by timeless stainless steel hardware.

This stunning 28m yacht is truly one-of-a-kind and presents an exciting opportunity to acquire not only a yacht of superb pedigree and ability, but also an official member of the Feadship Heritage Fleet.
