About BLACK PEARL
The 106.7-metre sailing yacht Black Pearl offers guests a rare opportunity to step aboard one of the most groundbreaking vessels ever built. Launched by Oceanco in 2018, she remains the second-largest sailing yacht in the world and is powered by the largest Dynarig system ever created, setting 2,934 square metres of sail across three 70.6-metre carbon masts. This remarkable configuration allows her to cross the Atlantic under sail alone, reaching speeds over 20 knots with zero fossil fuel emissions.
Her newly revealed interiors, designed by Nuvolari Lenard in collaboration with Villate Design, are a tribute to Louis XVI style. Rich neoclassical detailing, ornate woodwork, gold accents, and silk carpets create an atmosphere of refined grandeur. The unconventional layout prioritises expansive social spaces, including a main saloon and a vast private study, while guest accommodation for up to 14 is arranged across five beautifully appointed cabins on the lower deck, including a full-beam master suite with a private balcony.
Wellness and entertainment are at the heart of Black Pearl’s charter experience. The lower deck hosts a spa with massage room, Hammam, gym, and a night lounge with a ceiling of twinkling lights replicating the constellations above Rotterdam on her launch night. The main deck’s formal dining room opens onto private balconies for sunset views, while the wine cellar and tasting room house an impressive 4,000-bottle collection. Outdoors, guests can enjoy the jet stream pool that converts into a dance floor, alfresco dining areas, and an upper deck Jacuzzi with a large cinema screen set against her mizzen mast.
Black Pearl also carries an extensive collection of water toys and custom tenders, including jet skis, SeaBobs, kayaks, Fliteboards, paddleboards, and a 10.4-metre Pascoe limo tender. Her foredeck transforms into a touch-and-go helipad, while her beach club offers easy access to the sea. Every detail has been considered to deliver an extraordinary charter experience, whether cruising in the Caribbean or Mediterranean.
A testament to innovation and sustainability, Black Pearl is equipped with hybrid propulsion and energy recovery systems that allow for silent, emission-free passages under sail. Her reverse bow design enhances efficiency and speed, while her pedigree build and award-winning technical achievements make her one of the most advanced and admired sailing yachts afloat.
Main Specifications
2 × MTU 12V 2000 M72 diesel engines, each delivering approximately 1,080 kW (1,448 hp), enabling a cruising speed of 12 knots and a top speed of around 17.5 knots.
3 x Scania 480Ekw generators of electrical power, supplying energy to onboard systems when under engine power or at anchor.
In addition to her conventional power sources, BLACK PEARL features an advanced regenerative energy system. While sailing, her variable pitch propellers can rotate and generate electricity from the yacht’s motion through the water. This power is stored in her battery banks and can be used to operate essential systems, significantly reducing reliance on fossil fuels and enabling periods of near zero-emissions cruising.
This cutting-edge propulsion and energy recovery setup positions BLACK PEARL as one of the most technologically advanced and environmentally conscious sailing yachts afloat.
