Marco Maranzana

Bio

As New Build & Refit Project Manager at Camper & Nicholsons, Marco Maranzana brings over twelve years of experience in the yacht and cruise industries, with a strong focus on the management and delivery of complex new-build projects. Combining technical expertise, architectural and design knowledge, and strong project management capabilities, he oversees projects from contract award through to final handover.

Driven by a deep fascination for ships and the sea, Marco is particularly passionate about the unique intersection of technical complexity, architecture, and design that defines the superyacht industry.

Background

Marco began his career in the cruise sector before transitioning to yachting, where he has developed extensive expertise in the management of luxury yacht construction projects. His multidisciplinary academic background includes an MBA, a Master’s degree in Project Management, and a Master’s degree in Yacht Design, as well as a degree in Technological Industry Engineering and Management.

This combination of technical, managerial, and design expertise enables Marco to approach complex projects from a comprehensive perspective, balancing contractual requirements, engineering and construction considerations, design objectives, quality standards, schedules, and budgets.

Marco is based in Camper & Nicholsons' Viareggio office, within the New Build department.

Experience

Marco currently serves as Project Manager, taking full responsibility for the execution and delivery of new-build superyacht contracts, from contract award through final handover. His responsibilities encompass contract management, design, engineering, construction, and delivery, ensuring that projects remain aligned with contractual commitments, technical specifications, quality standards, schedules, and budget objectives.

Prior to joining Camper & Nicholsons, Marco was Project Manager at Palumbo Superyachts in Ancona, where he worked from December 2025 to August 2026. Before this, he served as Project Manager at The Italian Sea Group in Marina di Carrara from February 2024 to November 2025.

Marco previously spent two years as Ship Building Manager at MSC Cruises in Genoa, from December 2021 to December 2023. Earlier in his career, he worked as Project Manager at The Italian Sea Group from September 2018 to August 2021, following a position as CEO & General Manager at Cartubi in Trieste from June 2015 to April 2018.

Outside of work, Marco is a certified scuba diving instructor and holds an unlimited offshore boating licence for both sailing and motor yachts. He is passionate about outdoor activities, fitness, skiing, and sailing, and has a particular interest in architecture and design, especially within the yachting and marine sectors.
