About CALYPSO

Calypso is a custom-built Feadship with a seductive mix of classic yachting and 21st-century allure. Discerning yacht enthusiasts will be drawn to her balance of timeless elegance blended with tasteful modern upgrades.

Steeped in history, Calypso's story begins with her launch in 1978. Originally commissioned by E. Clayton Gengras, an automotive millionaire, she was designed as the ultimate venue for entertaining clients and hosting lavish parties. Calypso was then purchased by Malcolm Forbes, who was also famous for hosting high-profile events, including royalty and Hollywood icons like Prince Charles, Elizabeth Taylor, and Henry Kissinger. In the early 2000s, Calypso transformed into a family-owned yacht working closely with National Geographic during remote explorations to conduct scientific research.

Having undergone significant refits in 2016 and 2019, Calypso epitomizes how a famous classic yacht can be simultaneously upgraded and preserved through careful planning and execution. As part of the Feadship Heritage Fleet, her condition is excellent and complements her vintage quality, a testament to the dedication of her current and former owners.

Accommodating 11 guests across five cabins, including two master suites, two double cabins with queen beds, and a cabin with twin beds plus a Pullman berth. A flexible 6th cozy 'Harry Potter’ cabin adds charm and is an option for an additional guest or crew member.

Inside, classic teak panelling blends with modern furnishings. The atmosphere is inviting and open with ample space between the main salon and dining area. In addition, there is a large owner’s study which can easily be converted into a theatre, gym, massage area, or spa.

If you aspire to recreate an event in the spirit of Mr. Gengras or Mr. Forbes, it’s still in Calypso’s DNA. The huge upper deck is perfect for outdoor fun, featuring a Jacuzzi, barbecue, sun loungers, a 12-seat alfresco dining table, and a 120-inch cinema screen. Whether sipping cocktails and dancing under the moonlight, lounging in the sun, or seeking shade underneath the removable awnings, guests can enjoy panoramic views day or night. Calypso's state-of-the-art audiovisual system ensures entertainment flows seamlessly from interior to exterior spaces, elevating every moment onboard.

Having graced waters of New England, the Caribbean, the Mediterranean, and even the Pacific, she stands ready to fulfil the adventurous spirit of her next owner, promising unforgettable memories on the high seas. Powered by reliable CAT engines, Calypso has an extensive cruising range of 3,400 nautical miles, ensuring endless possibilities for her next owner.
