About MIDNIGHT SUN
Midnight Sun is a classic Camper & Nicholsons-built motor yacht that remains in her authentic condition. Midnight Sun is quite remarkable in this regard, launched in 1962 she has been owned by the same family for the last 56 years and has retained her Lloyd’s classification throughout her life.
An original Camper & Nicholsons build, this 31m canoe-sterned displacement motor yacht is an important piece of maritime history. One of the shipyard’s ‘Destiny’ class series, built between 1960 and 1964, Midnight Sun is one of the first large motor yachts to have been built by Camper & Nicholsons in Southampton after WW2.
Accommodation for six is available in four cabins on the lower deck. The layout comprises a full-beam suite with twin beds, a guest twin, and two single cabins.
The semi-sunken observation room is now converted into a double cabin with direct access to the sun deck. The interior fit-out remains authentic with 1960s style throughout.
Midnight Sun still runs on her two original 8L3B Gardner main engines, and can boast both an economical fuel consumption and a transatlantic range.
Midnight Sun is likely one of the last classic motor yachts of this premium pedigree to be available in her initial splendour and is one of very few canoe-sterned classics currently on the market.
