About AQUA BLU
Guests can expect to embrace a distinguished sense of history and seafaring evolution when they set foot on this one-of-a-kind yacht.
Aqua Blu began life as a British Naval Explorer HMS Beagle and took her original name from the legendary ship that carried Charles Darwin on his expeditions. Later, she operated as a private yacht of an European aristocratic family in the Mediterranean and is now returning to her exploratory roots and cruises the Indonesian waters.
Spreading across five decks, Aqua Blu perfects the concept of a modern explorer yacht with inviting and generously-sized indoor and outdoor spaces. Aqua Blu’s main saloon is perfect to relax and socialise at or for use as one large open entertaining space. The library and television room are situated on the upper deck, completed with the sky lounge bar which opens up to a sheltered veranda through automatic glass doors.
Nothing is more enjoyable than cooling off after a diving or snorkelling session in the indoor spa or the outdoor Jacuzzi on the bridge deck, which is surrounded by plush daybeds for sunbathing.
The sundeck offers spectacular 360-degree views wherever you sail in the picturesque Indonesian region. Equipped with a barbecue, outdoor seating with umbrellas and wraparound lounge sofas, this is the perfect location for sunrise yoga, an evening grill party or night-time stargazing.
Accommodation-wise, modern luxury and ultimate comfort were the design drivers for renowned Dutch yacht designer Cor D. Rover and these private sanctuaries lend a luxurious sense of home. Aqua Blu offers 15 individually designed suites in which up to 30 guests can be accommodated across the four-deck interior layout. All of these are air-conditioned, en suite and tastefully decorated with a brass-and-ivory interior theme.
Aqua Blu has travelled throughout the world from the Indian Ocean to the West Indies, and Scotland to South Africa. Aqua Blu is the first western-style superyacht to be based year-round for charter in Indonesia and offers set itineraries across three locations in this region. From December through February, she will charter in Raja Ampat before moving to Bali and the area of Komodo National Park from April through September. After that, she will start the route again with the remote and wonderfully exotic Spice Islands from October to November, an area not many superyachts currently offers to charter and boasts some of the best hammerhead shark diving in the world.
Having attained the highest international classifications (RINA, SOLAS, ISM) in safety, Aqua Blu is additionally equipped with quantum zero-speed stabilisers for optimal comfort at anchor and underway. She also retains impressive ocean-going capabilities, such as an impressive range of 7,000nm, making her the perfect travel companion at sea.
Aqua Blu’s toys and tenders include scuba diving equipment, kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, fishing gear, and a selection of RIBs. Her multilingual crew of 25 features a cruise director, dive instructor and highly-experienced dive guides, onboard paramedic and several qualified English-speaking guides for the many onshore excursions that make charters on Aqua Blu so special.
