The Kosterfjorden Yttre Hvaler Hope Spot spans across both Swedish and Norwegian territorial waters and contains rich coral reefs and a great variety of invertebrates, fish, sharks, seals and seabirds. The area has faced overfishing and experiences damages from shipping and exploitation for harbors and other construction. However, the area is a proposed marine protected area which, if established, would help conserve its stunning corals and kelp forests.
