Crew Interview Tips

Things move quickly in the yachting industry. Many times, when a Captain is looking for crew, it is for an immediate start. This might mean tomorrow or even this afternoon. If a Captain calls you for an interview be prepared that you might be asked to start right away. If you take too much time to think you might miss out.

As in any interview, first impressions are extremely important. A professional manner and positive attitude are key elements to making a good impression. Listen to the Captain and show that you are interested in the position by asking questions about the yacht, your duties, the crew, the itinerary, etc. Be honest about your skills and positive about the experience you have gained.
