Amalfi Coast
Luxury Yacht Charter Destination

The Amalfi Coast is a 50-kilometer stretch of coastline along the southern edge of Italy’s Sorrentine Peninsula, in the Campania region. Encompassing the iconic Italian islands of Ischia and Capri, as well as the hillside town of Positano and clifftop-perched Sorrento, these rugged shorelines are dotted with small beaches, pastel-coloured fishing villages and vistas of terraced vineyards and lemon groves.

From the historic architecture to the breathtaking natural beauty and the effortless glamour of the Italian culture, the Amalfi Coast has much to offer.

Amalfi itself was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its undisputed beauty and the uniqueness of its natural landscape.  The mountainside plunges steeply into the ocean, creating charming coves, deep fjords, cliffs, caverns, bays, natural arches and small pebble beaches.  The city of Amalfi is the first of the four Maritime Republics in Italy and has many historical points of interest such as the imposing Cathedral of St. Andrew, the Campanile (the bell tower) and the Cloister of Paradise.

Begin your charter on the Amalfi Coast in Naples and head straight for the island of Ischia.  Ischia is the largest island in the bay and is considered by many to be the most beautiful. Visit the boutiques and restaurants around the small fishing village of San Angelo and unwind in this volcanic island’s thermal spas.  If you prefer to make straight for the beach, then head to Chiaia beach in Forio, which is perfect for children, or the ‘Spiaggia degli Inglesi’ which will put some distance between you and the tourist crowds in town.

The neighbouring island of Capri is bustling with chic boutiques, restaurants and bars. Whether coming into port for a while or arriving by tender, the Marina Piccola (the little harbour) will be your first experience of Capri before ascending in the funicular to central Capri’s Piazzetta, and the beautiful village of Anacapri where you can visit the Villa San Michele - home of the Swedish physician Axel Munthe, the excavations at the Imperial Villa of Damecuta and, of course, appreciate the magnificent view from the top of the hill.  Look out for the Belvedere of Tragara, a high panoramic promenade lined with luxury villas, the Faraglioni - natural limestone masses that tower out of the sea, and the Blue Grotto (Grotta Azzurra) - a stunning cave with a unique influx of light that illuminates the water within.

Positano is a small town on the Amalfi Coast and the town itself is perched on an enclave on the face of a hill, winding down towards the sea. Naturally beautiful, Positano is also famed for its production of limoncello and other lemon products and the city is characterized by the church of Santa Maria Assunta, built in the 1920s.  On the wooded hillside above Positano, the villages of Montepertuso and Nocelle offer fantastic views of the entire coastline and it is from here that the famous trail of the Gods, the ‘Sentiero Degli Dei’, begins.
