Zakinthos is also known as Zante and forms part of the Ionian Islands, it is located South of Kefalonia. Its beautiful sandy beaches with crystalline waters attracts thousands of visitors each year. It is famed for the visits of the endangered Caretta-Caretta sea turtles during their reproduction period where they lay their eggs on the soft golden sands of its beaches.
