Channel Islands Yacht Charter

Luxury Yacht Charter Destination

Considered the most southerly part of northern Europe, the small archipelago of The Channel Islands lies in the English Channel, just eight miles off the coast of France, and comprises the two main islands of Jersey and Guernsey, as well as the smaller islands of Alderney, Sark and Herm. A journey through these enchanting isles aboard a superyacht promises a melting pot of natural beauty, cultural heritage, and relaxation.

Embark on your charter from the bustling port town of St Helier on Jersey and as you make your way along the coastline, the larger of the two main islands reveals pristine beaches lapped by clear waters and rugged cliff trails offering breathtaking panoramas. Anchoring in secluded coves, you can indulge in water sports with exhilarating jet skiing and tranquil paddleboarding, or simply relax on deck while savouring the sea breeze and far reaching views.

The journey continues to the east coast, where the imposing silhouette of Mont Orgueil Castle stands sentinel against the horizon. Steeped in history and dating back to the 13th century, this mediaeval fortress offers a glimpse into the island's rich heritage, with its labyrinthine passageways, imposing ramparts, and awe-inspiring views of the surrounding seascape. A private tour of the castle provides a fascinating insight into Jersey's past. For nature enthusiasts, Jersey is home to the Durrell Wildlife Park set in 32 acres of stunning landscaped parkland - famed for its conservation efforts with over 100 species of animals, many of which are threatened in the wild.

As you chart your course northwest, Guernsey emerges on the horizon, its charming capital of St. Peter Port beckoning with its picturesque harbour and quaint cobblestone streets. Step ashore to explore the town's boutique shops, art galleries, and historic landmarks, including the imposing Castle Cornet, a fortified stronghold that has guarded the island's shores for over eight centuries. History lovers are spoiled for choice with attractions such as the Folk and Costume Museum or the Fort Grey and Shipwreck Museum.

While Guernsey's harbours may be better suited to smaller yachts, the surrounding coastline boasts an abundance of bays and tranquil anchorages, providing the perfect backdrop for al fresco dining, sunset cocktails, and starlit soirées.

Once you have exhausted the many delights of the bigger Channel Islands, head for Alderney. Braye Harbour is a favourite port of call for superyachts as well as beaches such as Arch Bay and Clonque. Spend a day on the tiny and car-free island of Sark. With a sense of stepping back in time, explore on foot, by bike or even horse drawn carriage, and discover a land where monks once farmed and silver mines historically brought wealth to the region.

For epicurean delights, The Channel Islands offers a culinary fusion of European flavours, naturally drawing strong influence from France. Indulge in the freshest locally caught seafood at renowned waterfront restaurants, where expert chefs transform the day's catch into delectable dishes from succulent lobster to creamy seafood chowder. The Michelin starred Bohemia in Jersey has become a destination in its own right, serving outstanding dishes that showcase produce from the island’s fertile fields and bountiful seas.

The Channel Islands are undoubtedly seen at their best during the summer months between June and September but are spectacular all year round.
