KAWTHAUNG TO BARWELL ISLAND

DAY 1

Visit the small border town of Kawthaung (Victoria Point) for a last stock-up of supplies.
Try some of the local delicacies at the fresh food market such as Kawthaung fried chicken and freshly pressed sugar palm juice.
Cruise to Barwell Island and stay overnight at this beautiful, peaceful spot: a great first anchorage just southwest of the sand spit.

PALAU BADA

DAY 2

There is a gorgeous anchorage between three islands (Bada, Caws and Potter Island), with white-sand beaches and sand spits. Go beachcombing on Poni Island's west beach and pop on a snorkel to check out the surrounding reefs.
Palau Bada's west beach just south of the headland is very pretty. At the northern end of the beach there is a little mangrove river flowing behind the beach and continuing all the way inland, into the mangroves, it's great for kayaking along at high tide.

GREAT SWINTON ISLAND

DAY 3

You could easily spend several days at Great Swinton.
The island has just about everything to keep you entertained: beautiful beaches, fantastic scenery, good jungle walks - try to spot local birds and other wildlife - and great snorkelling and diving.
There is a small waterfall near the east point and more mangroves to be explored.

LAMPI NATIONAL PARK

DAY 4

The largest island in the Lampi National Park, Lampi is mainly uninhabited, with the occasional fishing village just dotting its shores. Explore the Mangrove River on Lampi's west coast by kayak during high tide.
The islands around Lampi are also worthwhile visiting, they have thriving bird life including sea eagles and hornbills, fruit bats and macaques are often seen on the beaches foraging for food. On Pu Nala there is a small village with a Buddhist temple.

CLARA ISLAND

DAY 5

Clara is one of the prettiest islands in the area, with a shell beach, many coves and inlets and exceptionally clear waters - excellent for snorkelling.
Check out the Waterfall Bay on the northwest side of the island, which has a white sand beach and a spectacular waterfall with a pool of cool and crystal-clear water.

GREAT SWINTON ISLAND

DAY 6

Returning to Great Swinton Island, but this time to explore the northern bays which offer more snorkelling, swimming and kayaking.
If you are feeling more adventurous, take a dive to the 'Shark cave', where you can swim amongst (harmless!) reef sharks.
Whilst you are busy having fun, your crew will set up on the beach and prepare a bonfire, in anticipation of a wonderful evening beach barbecue.

LOUGHBOROUGH ISLAND AND SOUTH TWIN ISLAND

DAY 7

In the north-western bay of Loughborough is a small village populated by Moken (semi-nomadic Austronesian people) and fishermen. There is a small local school where visitors are welcomed, and this presents a unique opportunity to learn about local life here first-hand.
Navigate the creek on the east side of the island during high tide by kayak and survey the tropical scenery along the river banks.
On South Twin's west side there is a small beach, which is never busy, and in this exclusive bay there is only space for one, maximum two, yachts to anchor!
The island is very rugged here and a fairly easy climb will bring you out to the top of the island where there are stunning views to be had from the shade of the trees. Beneath the water's calm surface, deep gullies can be found, formed by large rock structures and creating passages that can be swum through and dramatic underwater overhangs.
In the shallows, you will find fine table corals amongst the boulders, which are home to a huge array of marine life. In the sand there are often colourful, but hard to spot, ribbon eels.
After lunch, your yacht will head out to Koh Lipe, just a short distance away.

MACLEOD ISLAND

DAY 8

Stop at Horseburgh Island for a swim and snorkel on the way to Macleod. The Myanmar Andaman Eco Resort is the only man-made construction on the island and offers a 'civilized' spot for delicious cocktails (at US Dollar prices).
Trek through the jungle to the top of the island where the views are spectacular.

DAVIS ISLAND

DAY 9

Davis Island is the largest and highest of the scattered cluster of Aladin Islands and there are many small beaches here to visit. Davis Island is densely wooded with two main peaks about 450m high. Off its eastern shore, a 5.5m tall rock rises out from the sea and is surrounded by a reef, which is great for snorkelling.

COCKS COM ISLAND AND HORSESHOE ISLAND

DAY 10

Cocks Comb Island has an interesting swim-through into a lagoon (hong) on the east side, which is accessible during low tide only.
Later, enjoy a snorkel around the next island, Horseshoe Island followed by a lunch on the beach.
