MEDYS Charter Show 2024
The Mediterranean Yacht Show (MEDYS) will take place from April 27 to May 1 and is held in Nafplion, the first capital of modern Greece. MEDYS is organised by the Greek Yachting Association and is supported by the Municipality of Nafplion, and the show has quickly become an important show in the Mediterranean calendar.
The show is open to charter yachts of 24m and above.
Superyacht Charter Show Greece
The Camper & Nicholsons yacht charter professionals will be attending the MEDYS superyacht charter show in Greece, presenting the Greek fleet. The impressive charter yacht showcase is a chance for charter brokers to tour luxury yachts, meet the crew, and learn more about the itineraries on offer for clients during the yacht charter 2024 season.
Yacht Charter 2024
For yacht charter 2024 options, the timing of the MEDYS show at the start of the Mediterranean summer season, is ideal for yacht charter professionals to inspect yachts and advise their clients ahead of summer charter bookings. And, for charters in Greek waters or the eastern Mediterranean, the yacht charter season runs to mid-October.
Yachting Industry Expo
The Mediterranean Yacht Show is a yachting industry expo like no other. For yacht charter professionals looking to inspect vessels for clients that are available for charter in the eastern Mediterranean, there is no show more targeted.
Alongside the charter yacht showcase, there are many business networking opportunities and even a chef’s competition.
This superyacht charter show has a very relaxed ambience and dynamic, with a more-low presentation from affiliate yachting industry companies than you might find at yacht shows in the South of France or the USA.
Why Greece?
With changes to the Greek charter license, Greece has enjoyed growing popularity as a charter destination, with its mainland coastline and many island groups offering the perfect yachting playground.
Yacht charter locations and island groups in Greece include the Cyclades, Sporades, Peloponnese, Argo-Saronic and the Ionian. Each island group has its own characteristics and something different to offer charter clientele.
Camper & Nicholsons opened its Athens office in 2023 in order to better support the sizeable charter fleet it represents in the eastern Mediterranean. The Greek Yachting Association (GYA) has significantly advanced the region and yachting infrastructure for commercial charter yachts operating in the eastern Mediterranean.
Superyacht Charter Trends
Greece’s warm seas and numerous secluded bays have been huge attraction for superyacht charterers, and the desire for relaxed days in the sun remains the charter priority for most. Other charter trends observed by the Camper & Nicholsons team for yacht charter 2024 include yachts with helipads, yachts accompanied by support vessels (carrying more water toys and offering space for additional guests) and charter itineraries that offer a better blend of yacht use and on-shore activities.
