Five minutes with: Eduardo Valfré, Retail Charter Broker

For Retail Charter Broker Eduardo Valfré, his career has, in one way or another, “always been about the ocean,” he says. Before joining the yachting industry, he travelled the seven seas as a Master Mariner on board cargo ships. In his spare time, he trained to become a qualified PADI Master Diving Instructor.

After working as a live onboard Captain and dive instructor in the Turks and Caicos, Argentinian-born Eduardo transitioned into shore-based yachting roles. He joined Camper & Nicholsons in 2014. “I remember sending my CV in one Sunday lunchtime and that same evening I had a call from the CEO,” he recalls. “I am proud to be part of such a great team of professionals at the most respected and established company in the industry.”

C&N: What do you love most about your job?

Eduardo Valfré: The pleasure that comes from finding the right yacht for my clients and looking after every detail to ensure that their holiday is the most memorable moment of their lives.

C&N: What is your favourite charter destination and why?

EV: It’s a tough one, but I’ll say Raja Ampat or the Komodo Islands in Indonesia, both remote places full of marine life and untouched reefs. It’s some of the best diving I’ve ever done.

C&N: What’s something you’re passionate about in the industry?

EV: I’ve been passionate about yachts from a young age. It’s the reason I enrolled in nautical school to make my passion my career. I couldn’t imagine doing a job that I wasn’t passionate about and fully committed to. There’s no greater reward than when a charter client sends you an email at the end of a trip to say that it was the time of their life.
